Strix 1080ti problem

Hello, i recently bought a 1080ti Rog Strix second hand still in warranty and i m having an issue with it. During gaming sessions, and not demanding games, tested this on destiny 2 and shadow of war, after about 15 minutes the fans start to amp up to max and the temperature rises to the point where i get booted out of the game via a graphics error, no black screen nor windows reset, after game crashes the card cools down. 

Any ideas? Would appreciate the input

Is the voltage set too high? or temp limit set too low?

No, i used both gpu tweak and msi voltage is set to normal which appears 0 in the app also temp limit wasnt tampered with, to be honest i haven't even seen an option for it.

Maybe the last person took it apart. Didn't apply TIM correctly.

The only issue is the warranty is from an UK retailer and I am based in Romania, so i have two choices, either take it to a repair shop here and void the warranty or send it to the UK, the card warranty looks non voided, so doubtful he took it apart.

Usually they don't care to much. As people watercool their gpus. So I would tear it down and check when if you still have a problem send it in.
