Terminal emulation client

markr54632

Can anyone recommend a good terminal emulation client? I would like the ability to use it with my homelab. I use an absolutely ancient terminal server Avocent ESP-16mi. It does not play nicely with putty or anything built over putty. For some reason it doubles every line. It works wonderfully with windows telnet client and tera term however.

The main feature I would like is the ability to save named sessions instead of having to type the port number in each time in tera term. If anyone has any tips on how to get putty to work that would be fine as well.

Have you checked all the settings in Putty?  AFAIK it should let you configure what terminal its emulating.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

I've checked the ones I understand. I know how to change the terminal I'm emulating in mobaxterm, which is half way reliable, but not in putty.
