Lenovo Yoga 730 15in for $1040CAD, good purchase?

I bought it from Lenovo Canada's website on cyber monday for $917CAD before tax, $1040CAD after tax.
I'm not sure if this is a good deal, or if there is a better alternative. I am a student and I need a 2in1 for taking notes. 
Budget: around 1k, 800-1200CAD

 

It has a pretty budget screen with low brightness and flickers in cameras.
The battery life is also apparently low.

For college. Taking notes, web browsing, editing pdfs. Gaming will be done on desktop.
Max weight 2kg
Min Battery life: 6hrs

Tbh, if you need a touch screen, I also recommend surface pro.

13in or 15in,  1080 is just fine.

As for GTX 1050, I don't really need it, but this was the laptop with the nice pricing. 
It costs $1170CAD now.

Only get Yoga 730 15 if you really need the GPU power, don't mind the OKish battery life and extra heat output
