That means it has a static IP outside of your local network's range. In that case, you only have two choices: contact IBM (or well, Lenovo nowadays) or reset via a serial cable.

It does. You need a special cable that connects to the diagnostics port, the one that looks like a PS/2 port. That's the only way.
