IBM DS3300

Hello, I bought an IBM DS3300 and lost the IP address for it so i can no longer connect to it. How can i manually reset the controller so i can use it instead of having a server-sized paperweight?

Just connect it to the network and run an IP scanner?

That means it has a static IP outside of your local network's range. In that case, you only have two choices: contact IBM (or well, Lenovo nowadays) or reset via a serial cable.

tried ibm, they want $3000 that i dont have just to give me information, and it only has a rj45 port for management, no serial

It does. You need a special cable that connects to the diagnostics port, the one that looks like a PS/2 port. That's the only way.

holy carp you are a godsend, i was initially thinking you were crazy, until i noticed the black stickers on the controllers were actually covering the port XD
