Hello everyone!

I'm currently rocking some old PC parts (I5-4690k and a Powercolor Devil R9-390x). I've noticed that the temperatures for both  CPU and GPU have risen slowly. They both have 120mm AIO coolers, which were good, but they seem to be lacking now. I was wondering if there are any options for an AIO for my GPU. I've researched that the NZXT Black Kraken G12 GPU mounting bracket would be a good fit. I was wondering if there are any CPU coolers on the market that would work with my R9-390x? Maybe like a 360mm AIO? I don't see myself buying a new gpu or building a custom loop, as that will cost $400+... Please let me know!

Thank you,

Loch.

For the GPU a single rad AIO usually a 120mm or 140mm is very capable of cooling, as for the CPU if you are overclocking a dual or triple rad is a great option. What are your current temps you are experiencing.

I plan on using 360mm for both gpu and cpu. Both are around 60C. But certain games go to 70c+.

A 360mm for the GPU would be a waste since it wouldn't get anywhere hot enough to warrant it, not to mention being a direct die contact it's much more effective at transfering that heat out into an AIO even a 120-240mm would be more than adequate.

At 60-70C under load, that isn't too bad, try changing out your thermal paste if you are noticing a slight rise in temps from initial install.

AIO stands for 'All-In-One'.

Not 'enough for two'.

That being said, what you seem to think you can just do is convert your dual AIO coolers into one loop.  While this might be possible. But since you gave no specs to the make/model it doesn't surprise me how this thread has evolved.

AMD generally get hotter than Intel counter-parts.   The R9-290X  was designed to run upwards of 80C and be fine its entire life...

AMD cpu's tend to be soldered between the DIE and IHS (not always but mostly)    so it is unlikely to benefit from de-lidding like Intel chips do, esp those older ones who's internal tim had gotten shittier over time.

If you list the AIO's you say you have for the Cpu and Gpu already,  this may help us let you know if your idea is feasible.

Essentially you want to make a custom loop with the AIO blocks you have and  substituting a bigger radiator.    Not all AIO's are expandable, and you cant mix just any old parts unless you really research what was used to construct the AIO.
