Hi,
Mob here i am new and i need some help. I have a below average rig and i am happy with it. However there is one problem it's power button. If i power it down and is a nightmare to turn it back on. Basically it goes like this. Hold the power button for 5-10 seconds and leave it then press once etc, etc. And if i restart it it powers down for some reason. I have two buttons on my case. One if for power the other is a restart button in case the computer hangs. The restart button is in good shape so if somehow i could switch the power button? AKA make the power button the restart one and vise versa. Is that possible? Or is there something else wrong here? Also worth mentioning this all happened after my computer caught on fire (power surge) and my graphics card also went haywire but i managed to fix that.

Well it sounds like your computer has been through a lot, so congrats on it still working, but to fix this issue you're going to have to go inside your PC and check the motherboard connectors for the front panel. If you do not know where this is, use your PC manual. Once you find it, try unplugging and re-plugging the front panel connector in the same exact configuration as it is currently set up. After this, check to see if works better. I wouldn't recommend switching around the power and reset headers if you even can, except as a last resort. If the problem persists, you may want to look into a new case which can be found for fairly cheap. Also, if you're running a mechanical hard drive, that could be a reason why it's taking so long to boot up.

I don't think it's because of the hard drive it does not turn on at all. Other then that i will ask my dad to do this poking around for me as i am not that experienced.
