Freesync with nvidia GPU and AMD GPU not APU possible?

Hi,

 

This is not about weather its worth it or not but if its possible. I have seen linus videos about using Ryzen APU and NVidia GPU to get freesync since it gives options to switch between high and low power with APU.

But is it possible if I have a NVidia GPU and AMD GPU with Ryzen without APU?

 

I have a 4k 60hz freesync monitor and a NVidia GPU so I wanted to know if this is possible if I buy a cheap freesync enabled AMD GPU and add it to my build.

The igpu of the ryzen should be something like a vega 1 or 2, so it should work with every other card although i cant confirm what im saying

I can't validate it but with current method on AMD iGPU, it should also work with dGPU.

Microsoft already described Direct 3D 12 multi adapter mode in which:

A GPU adapter can be any graphics adapter (including an on-board adapter), from any manufacturer, that supports D3D12.

So I don't see the reason why it won't work.

Shouldn't it be a vega or freesync supported iGPU? Does 2700x has that?

I guess there is only one way to find out. Get the GPU and try it.
