Hello everyone,

This is the start of my build log for my new custom water loop. I would like to think I am fairly knowledgeable at PC building. I have done 5 custom builds and truly love doing it. I have wanted to do a custom loop since day one and knew it just wasn't in the cards in my previous builds. Full time worker with a wife and a daughter, sometimes the PC building has to take a back seat!

My latest build I knew was eventually going to get a custom loop so I built it about a year ago with the intention of adding it later. Well I am at that time now and have been lurking around these forums for a long time and decided it was time to make an account and show my work for whoever wants to look! ill update the build as I progress, any suggestions are welcomed!!!

Current Build as of now:

AMD Ryzen 1600 @3.9ghz

EVGA GTX 1080 SC

16GB GSkill Trident Z

MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon

EVGA BQ850

NZXT Kraken X62

NZXT H700i

Custom loop parts:

All my parts have arrived and i am going to tear everything down in a few days and start planning it out. I have never bent tubes before so it will be completely new for me but i am excited to take on the challenge. i am starting with a simple CPU only loop and have parts from Primo Chill and EKWB.

EK 140 Pump/res combo

EK Supremacy EVO RGB block

EK SE360 Slim Rad

EK Furious Vardar fans x3

EK cryofuel acid green

PrimoChill fittings/drain in UV green

PrimoChill tubing

Please feel free to tell me that I didn't use enough or that I used too much...thermal paste is a very triggering subject?

I have named my build as "Project Venom"....yeah black and green have no correlation with Venom but hes a badass so...

This is where I had to stop last night, hopefully tonight I can flush the radiator and get it all installed with all my fans. Then to plan out the bends on Friday.

Well I managed to bend the tubes in a way that i found to be acceptable. Its no show piece by any means but as this is my first time Ill take it!?

I also still have a clean unused tube and didn't need to buy more! A win in my book. It was definitely a challenge but I have enjoyed this build so far. Now I will run my system prep through and look out for leaks and if its all good then the coolant will go in.

That is very clean bends for the first time. Great job man!!!  Some of those bends are better than the ones I did my first time with my water cooled build.

Thank you! I butchered my first two tubes but the rest went ok. They certainly are not the straightest but I can live with that.

surprisingly the 180 bend was one of the easier bends in the entire process, may have just been beginners luck.

I also found that wrapping two pipe cleaners up and mocking them up as a template helped immensely. They were far from exact but they gave me a decent base to start from.

Well the coolant is in and it's running leak free!!

its not quite finished just yet, I think I may have missed some connections, fans and rgb strips are not powered. It's been a long day lol. I'll fix it all up tomorrow and will get some truly completed shots.

Dude, nicely done! That is one killer color scheme. It definitely feels like something a Spider-Man "villain" like Venom would be proud to own.

Thank you. yeah id like to at some point, i may wait a bit until the RTX cards come down in price and pull the trigger then. My current set up has the card idling around 25c and around 55-65 under full load so im not in a hurry.

The EVGA SC cards are awesome. I had two in SLI (they're pulled from my rig and ready to be sold to a buddy once he gets the monies, now I have a Gaming X 1080 Ti), bottom card never broke 66C under full load, and the top card was exactly 10C hotter (only a single slot between them for air to get to the second card) at 76C max. In single card setups I never had them break 65-66C though. That's running at 2100MHz on the core and I forget what on the RAM too.

yeah that's what I have noticed. those are really good numbers you had. This card has been a workhorse for me and I dont see a need to water cool it other than the aesthetic. Ill just wait until im ready to upgrade and do it then!

Noice. I am also doing my first hardline loop (first and only other loop I've done is soft tubing) with an R7 2700X and Vega FE. Considering at stock the Vega FE hits it's 85C temp target pretty quickly it actually needs the waterblock.
