Fan Placement

I'm getting three new fans coming around Thursday and I don't know if I should have the side fan to be an intake or outtake fan. I will have two front 120mm fans as intake (filtered), one 120mm outtake in the back, one 140mm on top as an outtake, but there's one fan mount on the side of the case that I don't know if I should make it an intake or outtake. The location would be near the GPU, and would help to cool that, and the CPU heatsink if it's intake. The only problem is that it has no air filter, I don't know if this will build up more dust, even though it's positive air flow. Or should I have it blowing air out so that the dust will only get (mostly) caught on the air filter in the front?\

 

Currently, my setup is one intake fan in the front, and those two back/top outtake fans. When I got the pc it was dusted to all hell, because they originally only had an intake fan on the side unfiltered and I don't want to go through the dust nightmare that has happened within that case.

Imo the best way for your case to reduce dust is to make the front, top and side filtered intake, and the rear exhaust as usual.

You can mount filter inside the case, between the fan and vent, hold down by the same screw that holds the fan. That does mean getting holes on your filters though
