Building My First PC

After being unsatisfied with my laptop I purchased in August of 2017 from Sager, I decided I'd like to build a desktop. I am putting in two Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti's (2 way SLI obviously) and have trouble trying to figure out what MOBO I should use to take full advantage of both GPU's.  This system I'm building is strictly for gaming and streaming. 

 

 

Note* I know I only have a HDD selected as my storage. I plan on buying a 32 GB Intel Optane module to save a little money. I am open to suggestions to not do that.

Just be aware that SLI support is basically nonexistent these days, so unless you specifically know you can take advantage of it, get a 1080 ti.

Also, get an SSD.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

The motherboard's disappointing for the budget

 

A single 2080 is better value for your money, it's better for that money to be spend on something else

 

Even if you get an Optane module, you should still buy a separate SSD because Optane is no magic, it cannot replace an SSD's dominant advantage in speed.

 

Even number of monitors for games at once will be odd. The crosshair will be on the edges of the screen

Also directed at @fasauceome, what motherboard would you suggest? I found an EVGA 1080 Ti for around $800. I also selected an SSD as opposed to Intel Optane.

Buy a used by 1080 Ti. You should have no problem finding one still under warranty for $550 US. About the monitors, if you’re only gaming on one monitor, save $100 and buy a 60Hz panel as a second screen. No point in wasting that money.

Even so, Consoles are 30-60 FPS, right? And if a new console comes out in a couple years you can plug it into the 144Hz monitor. Unless you want two of the same, it’s your money

I'm really pleased by my Z370 classified K, and the Aorus line from gigabyte has been great to work with as well.
