Should I get Red Dead Redemption 2 if I haven't played the first one?

I want to get Red Dead 2 but I haven't played the first one will I be lost?

No. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the 2010 original, so you shouldn't be lost at all.

You can play the second one without playing the first, but I'd definitely go through the first if you can. Its incredible.

No, because it is set before the second one.

Yeah..? I was just mentioning how OP should play the first game either way because its good? I know the order.
