Hy everyone!

I'm a bit new to the forum but I just needed to ask for help.

To start I think Imight need to give you the backstory.

About 4-5 years ago I got 2 crates of hardware from a company's e-waste pile. Most of the stuff was usable in one way or another and there was two apple products. One xserve G4 and an Imac 5.2 which I used to understand mac. I'm not a fan of apple but I though I might be able to use someday this xserve G4. It started up and showed me a no OS screen and as all the drives were empty or wiped clean I found no way to install osx on it. And also it was too loud so I used it in another way. As a Table.

Back to the present.

I was thinking again to fire it up somehow and use it in some way but again I got stopped by not being able to install an OS on it. The extra features are : CD drive, 2 gigabit ethernet port and a radeon video card.

As linus and the team is able to do anything that is possible with tech I though I might find answers on this forum. I can supply pictures if its needed to get it up and running again.

Thanks everyone in advance!

G4 systems a really out of date, and no new or recent software will run on them. I have a powermac g5 for my old powerpc code that I want to run, but thats pretty rare.

You can install 10.5 or 10.4 from a usb or cd drive, but really I wouldn't bother unless you have a specific use, its very slow and software is old, and things like web browsing isn't pratictal.
