Hello all,

So I currently have a 12" Macbook which I find too small for my eyes and am unable to type on it for too long as it causes me a significant amount of pain in my hands.

I am looking for a windows replacement, I am considering a Dell XPS 15 with touch screen, does anyone have any practical experience with one? Realistically I would be looking at the lowest level touch screen model. Or can anyone suggest a different device. Needs to be portable, at least 13", with a great keyboard and preferably touch screen with a max budget of £1750 but hopefully lower.

Thanks in advance for advance

The XPS 15 is a good choice if you get a good unit. However I have been using the Asus ZenBook Pro UX580 it's quite a good laptop the only downsides are that the bezels are a bit thick. Everything else is quite solid.

XPS 13 is also solid https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Touchscreen-Notebook-i7-8550U-Graphics/dp/B0799979K9/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1543662940&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=Dell+XPS+13+9370&psc=1

You mean cheapest?

Usage? Preferred max weight in kg/lbs and min battery life in hours? Do you need good sRGB display? Is touchscreen a must?

Yeah UK. XPS 13 is definatly a good option, just worried about screen size.

To figure out the screen size I actually recommend just drawing the laptop dimensions on a piece of paper - A3 :D. Because basically the dimensions are almost the screen size (because it's bezeless (almost))

XPS13: 11.98 inches (304mm) wide, and 7.88 inches (200mm) deep

XPS15: Width: 14.06 inches (357mm) Depth: 9.27 inches(235mm)

Yes cheapest.

Below 2kg, preferable around 10 hours battery, it will mostly be used for typing/ creation of documents, reading documents and general university work. Tocuh is not a necessity but would be nice. Again sRGB would be nice but far from essential.

Good idea, just need to deicde if the 15" is worth the extra size and weight.

I just replied a guy from UK who needs a laptop with good battery life, you can refer to here. All laptops listed have at least 7hrs battery life. Keyboard feel is subjective, try it out if possible
