Hi all,

well, the title says it all. I have an EVGA 650 P2 which, with my configuration, has rarely spun its fan. I've kept the PC on the ground for about 3 years and some months ago I've noticed I have really tiny spider webs inside the PSU, lots of them.

Haven't had any issues until now but I'm afraid it could lead to some problems in the future. Since I'm moving soon and I'm probably going to put the PC on the desk this time, I'd like to take advantage of the move and clean the whole computer, power supply included. But how could I clean it effectively? I would avoid opening it, since I still have 7 years worth of warranty. Vacuuming from behind? Only using compressed air makes me think the webs could stick on stuff and stay there

Thank you in advance

Happened to me too. Used compressed air, not a vacuum, since a vacuum will create static sometimes.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

Won't compressed air just push webs against components and make them stick? That's my main concern

If you get a long narrow wooden stick, you can scoop the webs out and blow whatever remains away.

The holes on the back of the PSU are actually very small, that's going to be tricky. And the webs are just too many, like a tiny spider made a house in it. I'm really afraid of it being dead inside the power supply too.

I mean, they're a whole lot. The photo don't get the idea very well, it mostly shows the ones closer to the grill

You sure that’s a web? Looks more like dirty air and lack of maintenance.

Yes, completely sure, there are more of them deeper inside the power supply

It's probably happened because the fan was almost never powered on by the psu (it starts at about 300W)
