GTX 970 clock speed

i got a gta 970 today and it is clocked at over 1000 mhz but for some reason it is constantly changeing in after burner and in game it only hovers at 899 mhz it wont go up to the normal clock. Any ideas on a fix

Did you manually overclock?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

it not even overclocked i just fired up after burner to see that the mhz were changeing

how hot is it running?

what about the GPU load/usage? is it always 100% while gaming?

It seems to be working fine now. Its evening hitting the boost clock. I restarted my pc and that seems to have cured it.

If it happens more,../again

 

Get a better PSU. (Likely generalization, but the GPU is getting starved for needed power, or the GPU has issues)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
