Access point and switch recommendations

How easy are ubiquiti ap’s to setup ?

Not too hard. You just need to install a controller on your computer and from there you set it up. The controller doesn't have to be running all the time only when you need to change a setting

What about the uap ac lite?

AC Lite, LR, or AC Pro works. The In wall is more if you want it on a wall (projects wifi outward from the wall)

They're really easy to set up. You need to install unifi controller for the initial setup, but you do not need to have it running. Keep in mind that some models do not come with the POE injector (Usually the cheaper one). You need a POE injector for the APs to get power.

I run a dual AC Pro setup on a POE switch myself.

I only really need to provide WiFi for 1 room but then I want another to put in the loft for the the other 3 rooms upstairs would 2 lites be sufficient for those uses?

Yeah, two lites would work for it, but it depends on how your home handles wifi. Like my home is not that big (1,200 SQ FT), but Wi-Fi just gets eaten in my house.

You can easily add more APs as needed in the future. You might look for used ones or open box ones, I've gotten good deals on them.

Out of curiosity would 1 lite AP in the middle of 4 rooms give wifi to each room? If so how many devices do the lite ones support before they get overwhelmed?
