HDD Install

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

Hardware wise (if you don't intend on using this as a boot drive); basically. Just install it + connect the cables and you're done (you could double check your BIOS to see if it didn't assign it as your boot drive.. Just in case).

Software wise (if we're talking Windows); you just gotta go into disk manager and assign a letter to it (and maybe format it, keep in mind format means removing all data from the drive. Be sure there is no important info on that drive and be sure to select the right drive!)

Is installing a whole new hard drive or ssd just "plug and play" or is there something complicated I should know about before doing anything ?

Thanks !

Plug the cables, check the bios tu see it is recognised and the just open windows drive manager and create the partition. Not going to damage it unless you drop it.
