4k Gaming rig/work

Hello I've had my computer for about 7 year and I'm looking to buy a new pc. I get it at this point most people would say that a 4k rig would be a bit stupid to buy but at the same time I'm using my computer for work also. I've had my computer for 7 year now but it's getting pretty slow for some task.

3000 $CAD would be my budget I already have my monitor and keyboard/mouse.

 

I would prefer to buy my computer from canadacomputers.

Feedback would be welcome on what I should choose for this rig.
 

It's been over 7 years since I've check what's good for a pc.

I recommend going for the R7 2700x CPU and a Nvidia GPU. With AMD announcing AM4 Support through to 2020 the future upgrade path looks good. We will likely see the new 7nm CPU's compatible with the current motherboards so it is worth the investment now. And the Nvidia GPU's are the best available in the consumer space

 

This is pretty over the top but for $3k cad you can make a pretty nice system. Also, you could easily get an RTX 2080 Ti.
