CPU OC voltage tolerance

I am new to overclocking so wanted to know if stability tolerances were really low when doing an OC. I'm still trying to dial in my i5 9600k, and am trying 5ghz. Started at 1.25 and currently at 1.36. Currently 1.36 has been going for an hour; longest one yet.

 

So, when doing an OC, are voltage tolerances low? Example: 1.35 unstable, 1.36 stable, 1.37 unstable. 

 

I'm trying to make sure I'm not wasting time with 5ghz since I won't be going higher then 1.38v just for comforts sake.

depends on cooling. Higher voltages and lower temperatures both give better stability, but higher voltage itself increases heat output exponentially.

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

I have a h110i and max temps have been 71c so far. However, I have just ran into a new issue. A little over 2 hours iurs into the test I got a hardware failure warning and it stopped the test. Any guesses on what could cause that? Everything seemed to be running fine.
