Hi,

I'm doing my first RGB build, and I am hoping to get some help, here. My goal is to have all of my RGB parts synchronized via ASUS Aura Sync. I have the following Aura Sync RGB parts:

  • Cosmos C700P case
  • Enermax Liqtech TR4 II AIO CPU water cooler
  • Trident Z RGB RAM
  • ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme motherboard

The motherboard has two "RGB Header" pin connectors and one "Addressable Header" pin connector. The CPU cooler says it needs to be attached to the "Addressable Header" connector. My questions are:

  1. Will I be able to use Aura Sync on anything I plug into either the "RGB Header" or "Addressable Header"?
  2. What's the difference between the two different connectors?
  3. If I have to plug the case and the water cooler into the "Addressable Header" slot, does it mean I need to get a two-way splitter? (not applicable if both connectors work for Aura Sync)

The RAM's RGB is directly controlled through the DIMM slot it is plugged into, so that should already be taken care of.

Thanks! :)

the difference between the regular rgb header and the addressable one is that the regular one will light up all LED´s in the same color and brightness at the same time while the addressable one is able to control each LED individually which makes much more effects possible.

you could get a splitter for the addressable header as well as the regular one which would make both attached devices do the exact same patterns at the same time.

If the parts itself allow it you can also daisy chain them together and control them like they are one long led strip but im not sure if the software offers that much control over it.

personally im a big fan of the addressable LED´s and you can but 5m strips with 300 leds for about 10 bucks on aliexpress if you want more.

Ok. Is it normal that the addressable header pin connector on the motherboard only has 3 (not 4) pins, aligned like XXOX? And the RGB connector coming out of the case is a female 4-pin, while the RGB connector coming out of the cooling block is a female 3-pin. So, I'd need to find a 3-pin/4-pin male to 3-pin female connector. I think that's right.
