The heatpipe on my rusty Dell l502x crapped out.

So i decided to replace it, but the new heatpipe has the exact same problem.

The thick heatpipe is attached to the cpu (picture in attachment). The silver block is scorching hot. The copper heatpipe is hot close to the cpu and cold on the other side.

When i flip the notebook on one side it will transfer the heat properly for a while, but after a while it will stop transferring heat untill i change the position of the entire device again. It seems like there is no position where it will work 100% nor is there a position where it never works.

I am baffled by this bahaviour, i cannot find any similar cases on the internet. Anyone can help me?

how does the heatsink end look?  Clear of debris, and the fan spins up as it should?  Tried repasting the CPU, or whatever it is under there?

the fins are clear of debris, the airflow is good, the fan is also good. and the connection between cpu and the cooling block is also good.

the problem is the heatpipe.

when the cpu is 90degrees, the air feels cold. and the cpu block itself and the heatpipe near the block is scorching hot. the heatpipe near the fins(fan) is cold.

when i then flip the machine on its back it sometimes starts cooling efficiently, but this does not always happen.
