AMD Wraith Stealth cooler loud

Lemonpearl

I just installed my Ryzen 3 2200g but the cooler is sounding pretty loud (about 42-45 dB according to an app on my phone).

I also didn't find it easy to install as the screws needed a fair amount of pressure to get started.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Edit: added a picture for reference

Did you tighten in a cross pattern or do one screw all the way in and move to another? Sounds like bad mounting pressure, therefore some bad temps probably.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You might want to check whether you have AMD cool n quiet enabled, also check your fan curve in the bios. When I was using a wraith cooler, it was very quiet I have to say, so if the above doesn't help any I'd say you got a bum cooler.

Bios says 32 and 29°C for CPU and moba, respectively.

Cool n quiet was enabled, and I think the fan curve looks normal.

I've also noticed a sort of whiny sound on start-up/shutdown.
