Audio play through android phone while connected to monitor

I got a usbc to hdmi adapter so I can use my monitor for my phone(Samsung s9), but I want the audio to go to my headphones that are plugged into my phone rather then it going to my monitor which doesn't have any speakers or headphone jack. There was a setting that let me choose which one but me being the damn moron I am hid it and now I cant find it. what is it called and where would it be?

I've never done this so I don't really know, but if I were to guess I'd look for a toggle in the dropdown menu or in the settings menu.

 

If your monitor has a headphone jack (the ones with a speaker usually do) you could solve your problem by connecting your headphones to the screen.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
