hello all,

im trying to setup 3 screens

i have a xfx 7850 core edition card 2gb ram and 256 bit.

my qustion is i have a saphire active displayport adapter , but the card only has mini display ports .

can i use a passive mini display adapter plugged into the active display adapter to dvi?

will it still work or no?

any help will be appreciated

No, you'll need to get an active mini-displayport to X (HDMI, DVI, displayport, etc.) adapter.

just give it a try, if it does not work that sicks but if it does great. and it sounds like it would work to me because mini display port and display port is the same signal just a different port right.

oh man thank you so much.

i've been googling it all day and coldn't find any info.

i thought as much i already ordered the active mini dp adapters a few days ago.

just wanted to see if i could be sure it wasn't my monitors or something else.

ok....honestly i goofed up and tried it already. it doesnt work screen connected to adapter just keeps blanking out whenever i go full screen on anything (games or webrowser) just wanted to know why it didn't work.

thank you both for your responses.

hopefully others can learn from my mistake.
