Hey guys. I have a problem with my PC.

I checked the system requirements for Assassins creed 4 a few days ago and my pc exceeded the recommended requirements for the game. but i cant run the game well. i touch 30-40 fps on high-ultra settings 1080p. Only when i drop the settings to low-off is when i can barely touch 60 fps 1080p.

I'm not sure what the problem is.

My Specs:

Ryzen 3 1300x (Stock speed)

MSI A320M PRO-VD PLUS. (MS-7B38)

ASUS Phoenix GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. Driver version - 398.82

Kingston HyperX fury 8GB running in single channel.

 

I'm not sure what the problem is. Hope you guys can help.

assassins creed is an unoptimized piece of garbage, don't be surprised by this.

Most likely lack of optimization.

 

I pass the requirements for PUBG, but purely because I have an older card, I can't get a playable framerate on 1080p at all.

^^^ AFAIK all the AC games on PC have been terribly optimized, and AC 4 is no exception.

Rise of the tomb raider also runs at 25 fps at low-off settings. Am i facing this just because they are older and not optimized for Ryzen?

IIRC, it has something to do with being ported from console. Similar to how PUBG on console has a lot of trouble, being ported from PC(and it was never an optimized game as it is).

i remember AC1 and 2 and Brotherhood were very well optimized, the crappy optimization started with AC3 and above.

Your RAM is quite a big problem too. Ryzen loves memory bandwidth and frequency, but yours has neither (not even dual channel)

ROTTR is fairly recent, that shouldn't be problem.

Still runs very poorly even on the lowest settings possible.

Tried this. It really works. im getting 55-60 fps on all high settings. a few hiccups here and there where it drops to 35 fps. But a smoother experience than before. Thanks.

You're welcome.

Other than that, RotTR is quite heavy, and your system isn't really high end. Your memory isn't in dual channel, and with Ryzen that improves A LOT your performance, both in gaming and daily use. Your GPU is comparable, in terms of performance, to a R9 280X, and as you can see even with a better CPU, as tested here: https://www.techspot.com/review/1128-rise-of-the-tomb-raider-benchmarks/page2.html

You don't get more than 35 FPS.
