Anyone know what this broken connector is on a late 2009 white Macbook logic board?

Big shot in the dark I know, but this connector broke off while I was replacing the thermal paste and now the MacBook won't turn on. I've tried shorting the power pads too but still nothing.

I can't tell you what connector this is. At first my guess was some kind of speaker/microphone connector bur this shouldn't prevent the laptop from booting. You could check what's on the other side of the cable or look up a diagram of the motherboard. Maybe iFixit has labled the different connectors on in their repair guide.

Yeah, I thought the same. Checked iFixit and it doesn't say what it is unfortunately. I'm going to wait a few hours before trying to power it on again as I'm thinking it could be static related. If it isn't static related then I'm very confused. Don't really want to disassemble everything again out of risk of breaking another one of these connectors. They're extremely fragile... but then I suppose they are almost 10 years old.
