What would be best?

And does a quadro improve preformance of a render enginge that does not use the GPU? (Currently using a GTX960)

The current PC I use is a

i74790 3.60ghz

16gb ram

GTX960

Thanks

If the 8086K build, with 32GB of ram has that little of a price difference from the i5, go for the 3rd option.

Sorry, the price was wrong. its €1081 on PC2.

Changed it.

Would you reccomend changing it to an i7 and up the ram to 32gb? Or is 16 plenty.

Usually they help a fair bit with CAD, but in other things like video editing they're kinda useless. That being said, in AutoCAD the speedup doesn't seem to justify the increase in price, from what I've seen, so I think a geforce would be adequate.

Change the gpu to something like a 1050 ti on that build and upgrade to an i7 8700.

Just a question though, where's the psu on pc2?

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

The i7-6700 is two generations back with a max turbo of 4GHz.

The i7-8086 is not worth its added cost. The 5GHz clock is pretty much pure marketing hype. With any sort of load, the cpu performs like an i7-8700K.

Vectorworks and Mental Ray can benefit from more cpu power so #2 with and i7-8700 would be a good choice. The cpu has a higher clock than the i5-8500 at any given load which means better performance. The i7-8700 turbo clocks are just 100MHz under the i7-8700K so the stock performance difference is quite small. The lower base clock results in less power consumption at idle, slightly lowering running costs.

If the work involves reasonably large projects, 32GB of memory can improve performance.

Autodesk 3Ds Max certifies Quadro gpu. While it does test Geforce models, direct support is going to be better with a Quadro. Given models of any complexity, a P4000 would likely provide a better viewport experience than the P2000.

A reliable 450W or 550W psu is required.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
