Inwin 301 build thread

So I sold some of my shit and now I'm able to build in the case I've been wanting to for ages.

Here's the parts list:

Bykski CPU waterblock

12mm hardline fittings Barrow

Swiftech H220x

EVGA GTX 780 HydroCopper

Used XSPC 240mm radiator (I want to add one more rad, but I'm pretty broke rn lol)

Ryzen 1700 @3.9ghz at 1.3125v

I'll probably buy some random res off ebay, but when I get some money I'll get some parts for the 80mm Koolance res body I have along with a rad.

Inwin 301 White

1tb WD Black

256gb Toshiba SSD

240gb Kingston SSD

Thermaltake 750gb 80 plus gold PSU

Got the 780 today. I think the older 700 series cards look cooler than the 1000 series cards. I used to even own two 1070s lol

I’m gonna try to mount this rad on the bottom, put my drain right there, and mount thw h220x in the front so I can connect them with a g1/4 male to male fitting.

Always wanted a 780 for some reason. Loved the look of the stock coolers.

Love my 1080ti for the performance, but the looks leave something to be desired. Can't wait to see how this build of yours turns out.

What you using for fans?

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

idk yet. Probably just the stock fans from the h220x and some random apevia blue led fan unless I get some money for this one 5 fan pack I've seen on amazon. Also, on the topic of looks

Do you want RGB (not for the rainbow effect, but for the ability to do a lot of different colors) but high quality fans?

In my current rig I am using Noctua IPPC Black, 3000rpm fans. Which are not RGB. To make them RGB, I am using Phanteks Halos Lux RGB fan frames. Which I honestly think looks great (you can see a pic of one in my profile if you're curious).

Yeah it's pricey but I like it. The fans are great quality, but compared to other fans I've used it's worth it. I'm a smoker so I tend to kill fans more often than others, I find Noctua fans tolerate that abuse more than other fans on the market.

Also I'd just like to see more people doing that than just shelling out the cash for RGB fans that I don't think look as good. Meh. You do you. Definitely following this build though since I've not seen too many InWin builds on here.

I mean RGB is cool and all but it's just not worth it to me. I've never even added in an led strip before. Farthest I've gone with bling is water cooling and like an led fan.

So I was thinking about it and then I remembered that Swiftech built in a bleed screw on the res so I thought,"Maybe I could just fill the system through the drain valve and unscrew the bleed screw in order to fill it up." I'll most likely mount the h220x high with the bottom rad using either a g1/4 fitting or some petg to connect to it on the bottom port. Since I don't have and can't find an H220x outlet adapter for the pump I will have to keep that with flexible tubing, but since the fittings that come with are reusable I'll use it. Plus I got a good deal on some tubing so it ain't no problem. If I ever do get a res (I kinda like my idea of what I thought was just going to be a temporary loop and filling it up with the valve) I'll probably mount it by the front rad in order to use a small run of flexible tubing so the tubing blends in with the build better.

Out of curiosity, why mount that tube to the underside of the GPU block like that instead of the top? For the valve placement?

Leak tested for an hour or two, added y fittings for the drain, and (not pictured) added mayhems pastel white fluid and a 120mm fan from my cooler master t4 cause I am not adding another cable for molex lol. Turns out the h220x I bought off hwswap came with two non rgb ml120’s so they are in the front suffocating but they still provide some airflow. I’m thinking about adding in slim fans in the future on the outside of the bottom, but my temps are actually doing fine (used to be lower in my other build). Ryzen 1700 @ 3.9ghz only hitting around 50c and my 780 is lower but I haven’t oc’d yet. Compared to my x370 board this b350 board needs lil more voltage for this oc and I haven’t oc’d my ram to its full potential so I’m only hitting like 1690cb in Cinebench. Air bubbles are still prevalent in the cpu block and the mobo and h220x add subtle lighting. Easy loop to put together, but with all it took to put it together I kinda don’t want to take it apart.

Ight here's the build FOR NOW as I have plans for it later. Also, some dude is trying to rip me off on a cpu I sold him off of hwswap saying "iTs On iTs LaSt LeGs" like bitch you probably didn't get the oc you wanted because neither did i lol. On its last legs my ass dude probably tried to oc the fuck out of it and fucked up that 2600k and has the audacity to ask for 100 bucks for it when he can see on my comment history that I bought it for 85. I swear some people on hardwareswap are trifling little fucks.

Temps were scary as shit (more like just shit) so I redid the loop after school. Added two blue apevia led molex fans to the front and moved the ml120's to the bottom in an exhaust orientation on the radiator. Temps are now idle around 30c (lowest EDIT: 24c at an ambient of 69F or 21c) and highest is 65c at an extended load on the cpu. Ram is now at 2666, but I can still not breach 1700cb like before on cinebench. Highest I've gotten is 1690cb. Played a game of h1z1 and csgo and did not go over 55c on the cpu. I mean the temps aren't bad but they aren't the best they could be. Also, some pics of the air bubbles finally out of the cpu block.

The front fans? So there is a perferation on the side panel in the back that i use for air flow. And the bottom dissapates a lot of heat too.

That’s the issue causing your temps, there is no where for the hot air to escape and you’re limiting the supply to the fans

i suffer similar issues with the 303 albeit a lot less pronounced, especially as I added a front Intake fan

nit taking anything away from your build you did well to fit all that in there! Have you tried setting up the front rad with the fans as exhaust?

What do you mean there is no where for the hot air to escape? The fans in the front push air through the radiator from front to back and the fans on the bottom pull air through that radiator and the air around it down out the case. There is also one exhaust fan in the back. The temps now don't go above 65 on the cpu and gpu on gta 5 for a couple hours

The problem here is that heat rises, so the hot air will be sat in the top of the case. The only hot air that radiator will be exhausting will be the hot air from the GPU. I'm just trying to help with temps here, not pick holes in your build, please don't see it that way. For example, I have a 1700 @ 3.925ghz also with a 1080 on the loop, I also have a monoblock as the VRMs get Fhot. My CPU max temps are 51C and GPU gets to around 52C (only Final Fantasy 15 frags my GPU this hard) but I guess I do have 360 + 240 + 120mm. I think you could get those temps lower, I think it might be worth swapping the bottom rad to intake and the front to exhaust with rear fan as intake also and see if it helps :)

Don’t worry man no hostility here! ik about convection but i think the hot air would just be blocked by the gpu if I exhaust upwards on the bottom. On the front I could potentially see better temps if i flipped the fans so it would exit through the cut out in the back. Also, I might get money in a few weeks so I could buy another radiator (120mm). Edit. Also, turns out my VRMs are garbo so I only get 3.7ghz at 1.3v before having to go all the way to 1.375v just for 3.9ghz.

Update: alright so I'm pretty much broke and the temps are alright, but I might trade two of some cpu waterblocks I'm not using for an EK 120 XE (thick ass radiator) which I'll put in the back. I have extra petg so I'm going to try to attempt to do some cool ass bends. I haven't really bent any tubing since last year , but I will try now. Also, I will try to put in two more SSDs since I put one on top of the hard drive cage (idk if anyone's ever done that before since it's not official supported) and I have a couple SSDs lying around. Here's an old pic of my build with a E5-2650 v3 ES, X99 Extreme 3, two rx 480s (one was a stock blower one), and some cheap watercooling stuff. The best and easiest petg I've ever used was nanoxia 12mm tubing and I've tried both bitspower and ek tubing (12mm).
