Recover Raid from Different Win 10 Machine

Can anyone tell me what would happen if (for example) a motherboard dies and you replace it and reinstall windows 10 or your boot drive crashed and you reinstall win 10, will those reinstalled windows 10's see the old raid config (raid 5 with some data on it like family photos)?

I have been wondering and would love to know what the answer is. Thanks.

Depends how it was setup. If hardware then as long as everything is configured the same, everything should* work without any problems regardless of OS.

If software then it'll depend on the specific software you're using. Some (very few but I've seen a couple do this for security) tie the array to something unique to that specific set of hardware or OS installation. Although most will just need to be configured the same way for things to work.

Windows' builtin software raid is somewhat resilient (I've personally had a number of problems though) but as long as the array is disconnected during reinstall it should be able to read the header info and mount it as normal.

That is what I was talking about, the Storage Spaces.
