Laptop displayport to 144hz monitor issues PLS HALP!

somatik

Hello,

I have a MSI GL 62M laptop with a GTX 1060 in it. I have it connected via displayport to a 144hz 1440p BenQ monitor. However, It is only allowing me the selection to use 60hz. Even the nvidia control panel will not allow me to do it turn it to 144hz. I believe it may have something to do with the laptop and monitors resolution being different. Any advice?

Thanks!

Is it an active displayport cable?

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

You can't use a standard DisplayPort to DVI cable.

It is a mini DP to regular DP cable. No DVI is involved.
