$550 USD? You'll be buying used parts if that's your budget.

HEADS UP, THIS ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE NOW

I'm keeping everything else the way it was for anyone who might check out my answers in future, but I won't be using LTT.

i5s are not worth it anymore, get a ryzen 1600.

Unless intel tomorrow shows their new i5 is on par/better than 1600.

I don't think OP is concerned about HT if his budget is $550.

I'll also get right on searching for a unicorn.

why not get the best product for your budget? a ryzen 1400( due to the budget) will be better in this case.

couldn't care less a 4c/4t CPU for that price is more of a joke, to see who is gullible enough to buy it.

OP i highly suggest you get whats best for the price, being a fan doesn't mean anything, in the long run, get the best thing you can in your price range instead of showing brand loyalty.
