How is my super budget build?

markr54632

I was just kind of curious how my super cheap budget build stacks up.

I have a dell optiplex 7010 I obtained for free, which I ripped out of the factory case.

I5-3470

8gb memory

I threw it into a coolermaster wavemaster case for nostalgia purposes.

Got all of the factory front I/o working and the coolermaster power switch and less working, which was a nightmare. This part was free (it was my dads favorite case).

Swaped the fans in the front for arctic f8's. The rear fan is a coolermaster 80mm pwm with the dell connector soldered on. The two f8s were 13, the pwm was 10

For storage I am using a 60gb edge ssd boot drive, a 1tb seagate sshd for a steam drive, and two 500gb seagate spinners for storage.

Ssd was 20

1tb sshd was free out of an old laptop

One of the 500gb drives was free, the other 12 dollars.

Video card is a msi 1050 oc edition. This was the most expensive part at 115.

Added another 8gb of ram for 16gb. This was 25 if you don't include the defective sticks of ram I received.

I added an additional usb 3.0 card and a pci sata card to run my two optical drives, which yes I do use frequently.

All of this was around 45.

This is supposed to be a htpc that I can play most of my games on.

I'm about 240 all in.
