AVG Will not Uninstall

What is this bull$h!t? I can not uninstall AVG from my pc. It hangs at 2% and I had to reinstall it because the removal tool destroyed everything but a few remains that kept it in the programs and features in the control panel, and giving me error codes. Can anyone help me?

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

 

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

Reminds me of the problems getting rid of Nortons.  Even their own uninstaller did not remove all the crap that was loaded on my machine.  Eventually had to browse the folders with the file manager to get rid of all of it.  Of course, over time, I eventually got rid of all of it by wiping the drive and doing a clean install of Windoze.  Good Luck.

I tried it, it left a huge mess. I am going to try the revo uninstaller that was mentioned by a helpful user in another post.

Well I can't say that. AVG is a great program..... uninstalling it...... hell. I am only uninstalling because I have a bigger ssd so I am going straight ssd. ^.^ AVG and other programs were on a HDD. The removal tool I had copied on a thumbdrive a few months ago for when I do pc work for some of the folks at church. It is great, just leaves things behind like a scattered brained girlfriend. Don't ask!

Well, I stopped using it after it started causing blue screens on my personal system a few years back, then stopped recommending it after it started causing blue screens on a client's system. I just had a bad experience, and lost trust when it happened to one of my clients... hard to recommend something after an experience like that when your credibility is on the line ya know?

 

But to each his own, obviously. Your experience with them seems much better than mine so no need for you to change because I'm butthurt over them! lol

You could try through ccleaner but I don't think that would do much more. Or through windows safe mode lol, I have had to uninstall other programs like that before xD 

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Well after using that software I'd say "stay the hell away from it!". Holy Hell did it mess my system up. I had to do a fresh install. At least my files were safely put on another drive. Avast here I come. AVG has butt f*ked me for the last time. I never have had a problem until I needed to delete the program. Thanks for your input bud.

Yeah, I usually use CCleaner.... don't know why I didn't think of them, let alone safe mode. Oh well. Atleast my whole system is on my ssd now. ^.^

I would recommend avast....Has done the job for me over the last few years and my experience with it is good.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
