CPU Bottleneck

Hello girls and guys I am new to the forums and need a tiny bit of help processing some info.. get it?

I recently sold my 3 monitors and gtx 1070 leaving me with 700 (+/-300) for a new gpu plus monitor.. 

I am set in having just 1 monitor (hated all the cables and space that took out of my desk having 3 monitors)

My current build is an i5 6600k with a z170 16gb ram.. i was hoping to go for a 1440p 144hz monitor 27' with a GTX 1080 (i was reading its the min you can get to run games at high at 1440p and decent fps) 

My question is will my CPU bottleneck a gtx 1080 at 1440p?
