Looking for a daily driver

So I'm starting University soon and I need a powerful laptop that can last me for the next 4+ years. And let me specify, gaming is NOT my number one priority, but having the ability to play lighter titles (Binding of Isaac, Minecraft, Darkest Dungeon, etc) would be great. My main priorities are battery life, mobility, and a powerful system for running software like FL studio, Sony Vegas, Photoshop, etc. So far my best option seems to be the New Razer blade stealth, and I'm willing to pay for it but something cheaper would be much more desirable. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

An old X230 gets my vote since they're cheap, easy to repair, and extremely durable.

Something from Dell's XPS lineup would certainly last you four+ years. The USB-C/Thunderbolt port would allow you to add an external GPU if you really needed it, but that certainly isn't a cheap upgrade, and it seems as if you're on a reasonable budget. Laptops are pretty subjective, but go for something with or similar to the following specs:

CPU: i5 6200U or up

RAM: 8GB+

Storage: 240GB SSD+

Battery: 50 watts+
