You're gonna need to give more information than that. What are you wanting to host? What are you requirements?

Personally I'm using kvm/qemu to host windows desktops and docker containers to host all my projects.

I would like to just have a vpn go threw my phone and my computer. for security. when I'm on other people's internet and even my inernet.

Lol, my bad, I read VM instead of VPN...

I'm using openvpn. Pretty straight forward to set up.

Will I get good speed? if I use openvpn?

That depends on your connections.

keep in mind that any of the following can slow you down:

from you to isp.

from isp to home.

from home back to isp.

Notice that isp <-> home is used twice, so however much bandwidth you want to use your home network has to handle double that.

For most normal stuff it should be fine and not even noticeable as long as your home network is a decent speed.

Build: Intel S2600gz, 2x E5-2670, EVGA SC 1070, Zotac 1060 6GB mini, 48GB Micron 1333mhz ECC DDR3, 2x Intel DPS-750XB 750 watt PSU
