Intel 600P Vs. Samsung 850 Evo

Hello.

 

Which is the better storage drive? I will be using the 1tb option of both drives. I am already planning on using 1 850 evo but I am wondering if it's worth it using 1 600p and 1 850 evo or 2 850 evo. What I will be using the drive for is the OS, games and files for video/photo editing.

The prices of the drives are the same.

 

Don't know what else needs to be said,if I missed anything just ask.

I would recommend Intel 600P. 5-year global warranty does matter.

As the performance difference, I doubt any regular user could tell.

I would go for 850 EVO even though it's a SATA SSD
600p is quite bad compared to other NVMe SSDs

In my country, Samsung has a 3-year warranty with limited data write quantity.

It says on the website I am purchasing the 850 evo from that it is 5 years. Does that change your opinion or is it still the same?

intel 600p is superior. much more gb writes per day within warranty and better read and write speeds all around. if you could i would even go dual 600p even for the warranty alone.

according to my source intel has 315,6GB per day, samsung 850 evo 82,2GB. thats a massive difference. intel also has more than triple the sequential read speeds and 4k random 155.000IOPS vs the 98.000IOPS on samsung. i doubt you will notice it but it is quite a big statistical difference.

Go for the Intel then. Intel disks usually have longer life span.

Proshop, since Scandinavian photo never has their 850 evo in stock. When I look at the price difference it is 4 dollars or 35 Nok.

It is concluded by one of my redistributor friend, who claim to never have witness a fail intel disk. I am not that sure either since I don't personally have the access to a large quantity of hardware to draw a solid conclusion.

The 600p series are some of the worst SSD's on the market.  Most SATA SSD's out-perform them in real world performance because of there abysmal 4K read speeds.

Please look at some benchmarks.  I don't know where you're getting your numbers, but the 600p series is horrible.

How about Komplett.no?

Price difference there is about 300 NOK, I usually buy from Komplett cuz their customer service is top notch in my experience

I have nothing against Komplett, always had great service from them but I do not know where you are getting that price from. It says the 850 evo costs 3499 at komplett and 3255 at proshop. The 600p costs 3250 at proshop and 3750 at komplett. The prices are from prisjakt.no

Then I get it, go for the cheapest place  

600p has higher sequential reads and writes, so if you're transferring a lot of files that's your best bet.

Personally I'd get the 850, since I don't need the higher sequentials and I prefer a good SATA SSD tbh.
