Valve introduces support for Virtual Reality!

Valve announced an "experimental virtual reality mode" to Team Fortress 2. To try it out, you need to have an Oculus Rift Developer Kit. The kits are available on pre-order for $300 USD. The hardware is intended for developers and is not a consumer product so it is assumable that this experience will come with a few bugs.

I don't even like TF2, but to see Valve working towards VR, and Oculus developing kits for anyone to use in their home is pretty exciting.

Also, TF2 runs of the source engine, so maybe soon we can hope to see the same support for other huge titles like Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Portal, Half-Life 2, and about 30 others.

Thoughts?

It's really nice to see that valve has added support for such hardware, I can't wait to start seeing this being used in the latest titles such as Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3.
