I am thinking about buying a gtx 1050, is there anything better for the same price?

Depends if you're willing to buy used? You could get some decent Maxwell cards if you look hard enough.

the rx 480 is about €300, this is way too expensive

What country are you in and which websites are you able to order from? I assume Amazon is a yes?

I'm in the Netherlands, and I can use Amazon, but most of the time I can find it somewhere else a bit cheaper

use tweakers to find the cheapest price, but would personally go for used, you can get much more for even less cost. just make sure you can pick the gpu up and have it tested there, look for the temps and clocks when you are there testing it at the sellers place

I have 2 MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G cards laying around. Thing is that they can only be used in a water cooing loop. I threw the air coolers away by accident when I moved in with my GF. It's a shame I know. Now they are much harder to sell. :(

Give MSI a ring and say your coolers broke, see what they can do. Might be worth getting some new fans in order to sell the cards off.

 

I got in touch with EVGA for my old 560ti which was like 3 years old (well out of warranty) and they said if I send them the card they'd just replace the fans as an RMA. (Postage paid by them too!)

 

I didn't end up doing it because I got another card...now I think of it...that 560ti is probably lying around here somewhere! xD
