What's the absolute best Graphics Card I can get with £250 for this build?

Abe_R

With £250 allocated to my card I'd like to know what's the best I could get, I was considering the EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti but this is my first build so I'd appreciate some suggestions from here

go r5 1400 with rx 580/gtx 1060

if you go gtx 1050 ti just get the g4560 (it doesn't bottleneck it much).

also 2 ssd's is dumb. get 1 tb hdd and 250 gb ssd for OS and gsmes that really require a superior ssd.

Why dont you get the 1500, drop 1 ssd and buy a 1tb HD and then buy a 1060/480/580

I'm getting the SSDs for free as well as the power supply

I agree that 2 SSDs isn't ideal at only 250GB each but I'm getting them for free and I plan to buy a bigger SSD further down the line when there might be a sale on

Don't listen stick with the 1600. You should be able to get a 1060 6GB for £240

How much of a difference is there in performance between the 1.51GHz and 1.61GHz? There's a £25 difference with the 1.61 being £265

Don't bother with paying more for boost clocks, you can do that yourself.

What are the two GPU's you're talking about?

Sorry are we talking GPU? Ignore all frequencies they don't matter. You can use a program like MSI afterburner to adjust your clocks, a GPU is a GPU they are all 1060's underneath. Just make sure the cheaper one isn't a mini card (1 fan) because crap thermals will impact performance.

Ahh okay thanks for the advice, so I'll just look into the cheaper one to make sure its thermals are okay then. I was comparing the EVGA 06G-P4-6161-KR and the EVGA 06G-P4-6163-KR

Haha yeah just opened their pages on parts picker! Is there another gtx 1060 you could recommend for the price that has multiple fans or should I look for a weaker card?

I mean here's the one I use

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/jZJkcf/asus-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-dual-video-card-dual-gtx1060-o6g

Cost around as much as the pricier EVGA one you linked, it doesn't have a backplate but its a nice solid white.

Also it has two fans and 1.59 GHz clock :)

Thanks, this has been really helpful since I was completely oblivious to the impact of the size and fans. I thought they just chose the fans based on what was necessary, not to compensate performance for the price lol
