My next hardware upgrade?

Hi, so recently i changed my gpu from a gtx 1060 6gb to a gtx 1080 kfa2 superclocked.

I was wondering what should be my next upgrade on my computer or even if i should consider not doing it.

Specs:

16 GB DDR3 Kingston (2x8)

P9X79 PRO

E5 1620 V2 Xeon

GTX 1080 KFA2

Phanteks P400

Intel SSD 240 GB

2TB HDD

I am torn apart between upgrading my computer or buying a new mobile phone since my current one is Lumia 640 XL and it's poop. (we all know why its poop)

Depending on what you are using your computer for. For gaming wise, if you think you are not really suffering at the moment, then don't bother upgrading any thing for the time being. Just get a new phone (since you yourself think you are "suffering" on your current phone).

Just what I think ...

Random question, why do you use a 1080p display as your main and a 4K as your side?

Haha. I know right, you are not the 1st person to ask this. Well, the reason being my 1080p is a bigger monitor (in sizes) compared to the 4K monitor. I use my computer mainly for daily surfing net and youtube. I do play games, but the games I played are WOW, Diablo 3 and also some random games like Civ 6. 4K monitor will give me a better / beautify picture. But those games I played will actually give me a better experience if playing on a bigger monitor. At least to me that is the case.

Currently I'm also looking into getting a bigger (or same size as my main) monitor but running at 1440p. 31.5" monitor running 1080p is really not quite awesome due to the pixel is quite low. :(

Something like that. But it's because of the game I played do not really need more than 60fps (in a way). You are right on the 4K thou. :)

I have a 32" 1440p monitor currently, and it's amazing. I hear 32" at 4K is awesome, too. 32" at 2560 x 1440 is the exact same density as 1080p 24", and my 290X also doesn't have to struggle with 4K gaming.

But anyway, back on topic. @punkyard  I would definitely recommend a new phone. A new monitor? How are your displays? Do you have a tablet? I think the phone should be first priority, and your other gear seems like it'll last you quite a bit from this point.

i just have a 60Hz 1080p monitor.

I can most certainly buy a 2k monitor+ maybe even 4k? and then get a phone at the same time but i really cant tell the differance between 4k and 1080p

You definitely will be able to after a longer period of use. 4K should be fine on a 1080, although I would recommend a 144Hz 1440p panel over it, or even a 34" Ultrawide. If you're really serious about gaming, go for a 144Hz 1080p.

Hmm I'd recommend at least trying out a 1440p ultrawide, just to see if you're into it. It's really nice for gaming, especially if you can get one with a curve.

Otherwise maybe something higher refresh rate?

I'm actually looking at a 43" IPS 4K but it's kinda expensive here. :(

Well, to be fair there is quite a huge different between 1080p and 4K once you put them side by side and uses it. Sorry for going off topic by the way. I would still recommend you getting a new phone instead of upgrading your computer for now.
