Upgrading from FX-6300 to Ryzen 5 (can I use same SSD with Windows 10 on it?)

So I'm wanting to upgrade my current set up from a FX-6300 based system to a Ryzen 5 1600 based system. I want to keep as many components as possible from my current build to keep costs down. I know that I will need a new motherboard and ram to be able to achieve this. I want to re-use my GTX 1060, Case, SSD, HDD and 400W power supply. The main question I wanted to ask is can I just use the SSD with windows 10 installed in my new system (when I first built this system I bought a retail licence just for reference.) . Also If anyone can see any other areas in which compatibility could be an issue let me know. On a side note I have been looking at the GA-AB350-Gaming 3 motherboard what are peoples opinions? not sure what ram to get (16GB nothing too fancy still on a bit of a budget) I am open to suggestions.

Cheers in Advance

Should work, but I'd still recommend doing a fresh install.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

You should do a fresh install of windows. Windows does not like it when you change motherboard/chipsets. It's a pain to restore it to normal.

Retail will allow you to reuse the same key or, if you have the latest updates, you can sign into your Microsoft account and tie it to that so you can transfer it much easier.

You'll have to tag or quote people in your replies for them to get a notification.

I edit my posts a lot.
