External hard drive disconnect while copying

I was using buffalo mini station 500gb external hard drive model HD-PC500U2/WH-AP 

Problem is when i copy files to disk it was get high at 100mb after it will gradually decreasing and disconnects the disk how would i fix it is there any problem with sata hard drive or internal chip. I didn't remove warranty label

Could be either. 

Id plug the sata drive directly into your pc, and get the data off with ddrescue in linux so that you can start where you stopped last time, and it fill correct/skip bad sectors.

plug the sata connector on the drive directly into your sata port...

I had a prob with an older ext drive, it would only work on USB 2.
