Go to solution Solved by FloRolf,

Your problem is the GTX1080ti.

It does NOT support dvi 144hz over the DP adapter.

You HAVE to use DP to DP into your monitor,

hey guys first time posting to any forum in my life  but i have run out of ideas my monitor that is 144hz is not saying it's 144hz anymore since swapping to windows 10

my monitor is a ancor communications inc vg248. not sure if this is it's real name lost the box a few years back it's asus VG248 or something like that

what i have tried-

swaping cables dvi to hdmi 2.0 then back again using the converter the 1080ti comes with

windows display adapter says 60hz

NVIDIA control panel says 60hz i have not idea whats going on but windows 7 worked fine

i have dual display if that matter thought i would mention it.

Go to your NVIDIA Panel and select Video Adapter settings (something along those lines), click the monitor that is 144Hz and there will be a drop down menu where you can select the Hertz. Try looking for that and changing thr value

i thought the converter that comes with 1080ti is a dvi to dp converter and wouldn't hdmi 2.0 work anyway even if it was only dp to dp instead of dvi to dp

Well, it is a DP to DVI but only single link. For DP to DVI Dual link you need an active adapter. Those things are $100

The HDMI 2.0 doesnt work because your monitor doesnt support HDMI 2.0.

Yes. But i'm 100% confident that it'll work.

I checked and the vg248 has DP in, right?
