Can Ryzen 7 top Intel in WoW Raiding?

Big Head Tech

The fully video can be seen in my status update.  However, I did the recent update that priorities cores over SMT threads.  I was quite surprised of the result!

It's kinda annoying to have to visit your profile page just to get the video.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

Ahh ok I see.  I was unaware it was your production as the user names are pretty different.  Thanks for the review.  So many people ignore WoW when reviewing hardware, but so many people play only WoW too so these kind of reviews are important to them.
Do you have a source on that Windows update information?  I mean AMD came out and said that they believed the Windows scheduler was already working correctly a week or so ago.

Despite the fact that ryzen seems to be the winner here, I still think that the g4560 offers the best value for money on a wow machine

System specs:

4790k

GTX 1050

16GB DDR3

Samsung evo SSD

a few HDD's

Absolutely no doubt about that.  I was able to raid (while streaming with OBS not shadowplay/quick sync) 30 fps+ on level 7 settings with a GTX 1050.

Can a 1050 max out WoW's graphics?

I used to play on level 10 on a R9 280 just fine. So I assume yes.

It can but it runs into issues while raiding.  The R9 280 is a bit more powerful than the 1050 though.

Not anymore for a few reasons.  A.) the games design requires server side information to be processed in order before the client side can begin to render textures, commands, and inputs.  This cases a huge issue even for the highest end CPU's. B.) They now have high resolution textures and even many 2GB cards have issues with higher AA settings or above 1080p.  My 4790k/Ryzen 7 1700x paired with a GTX 1080 dips to the 30's/40's in many cases while raiding.  I hit the middle 20's in cities.

I fill up over my 1gb buffer if I go past low resolution textures in dalaran.

Also a potato cannot run WoW.  3 FPS in a world boss because my Phenom X4 9750 couldn't keep up.  Switch to i5-2400 and now 30 FPS with a couple settings even higher.  Same HD 6870 GPU.
