Windows 10 on a usb?

Iceflame

Hi,

I am building a computer and would like to install windows 10 from a usb. The problem is that my OS on the current computer I am using is windows vista, so if i download windows 10 media installer from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO would i drag the file to the usb?

My concern is that it will install on my current PC and delete everything, and everyone using this in tutorials have windows 10 to download it on. if someone cold help me out, I'd appreciate it! sorry if I sound like a noob.

Thanks!

On the media installer it gives you the option to either install it on the current machine or make media for another machine.

Make a backup of everything before you start just in case something gets screwed up.
