And I think sandybridge has northbridge on the chip so maybe it needs to be updated but theres no guarantee

i7 2600 was a good upgrade from fx-4300 for me, idk about 6300 though. I have an HP "Angelica" mobo with an fx-4300 that won't accept a good GPU. Only GPUs that were offered by HP as an optional upgrade will work. HP sucks that way sometimes.
