Virtual Machine is Unable to Find Physical Machines on Network

Here is some context:

 

My company uses an OLD DOS software for product purchasing, distribution, and sales.

 

As it is a 16-bit software and DOS, it must be run on an XP or older OS.

 

Due to aging hardware and older OS compatibility issues, I have decided to try using Virtual Windows XP machines on more modern hardware (ie. Windows 10 x64 machines.)

 

I have set up the virtual machine as Windows XP Professional x86, enabled networking via NAT to the existing network adapter (Intel Lan Adapter.)

 

I have an internet connection on the virtual machine (can get on Google.com with no problem, but I cannot see the server on the network, or any of the other connected workstations for that matter.)

 

Any words of wisdom?

You need to set your interface as Pass-Through instead of NAT. This should be it

Pass through? I don't see that option. Do you mean bridged?

Yes, NAT treats the VM as if it's on a different network, whereas Bridging assigns an IP on the physical network and allows full local access.
