New build PC randomly freezes and shuts down.

PopsicleHustler

Hi everyone.

So my friend asked me to build him a PC. We spent a while picking parts and checking compatability.

Here are specs right away

Motherboar - Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AMD 970 (AM3+ Socket)

CPU - AMD FX8320E 3.2Ghz (Not OCd) (Under CoolerMaster 212 EVO)

GPU - Asus GTX 750 (Ti I believe) 2GB (We used his old one)

RAM 16GB 1600Mhz BUT here is a thing, 8GBs are his old Corsair vengeance low profile  2^4GBs, and other 8GBs are newly purchased Corsair vengeance 1600 also 2^4GBs. Installed new set in 1st and 3rd slot, old set is installed in 2nd and 4th slot just if you're interested.

Here are links for both RAM sets.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CRSM4I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (New RAM)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0058J1Q7O/ref=twister_B01MSR6UK1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1(Old RAM)

From watching Linus's video about RAM, it should work fine since both are same capacity and frequency.

PSU - Some cheap 30 bucks 750W PSU Which I suspect to be a problem. I didn't buy it, it was in his old PC and he told me to re-use this once since he is on a "Budget"

Case - Corsair Obsidian 650D

Windows 7 Ultimate

Now to the problem.

After using PC for about a week, it began freezing randomly in games and simply on desktop. Sometimes it unfreezes and continues to work, or freezes, bluescreen pops for a second, and PC shuts down. No problems while booting up.

Testing shows that CPU and GPU temperatures are totaly fine. GPU stays around 70C, CPU stays around 30C while gaming. (Warframe, ARK).

Before it freezes, it makes some sqeak noise. Another thing, PSU has some loud coil whine in the new system. It didn't in the old one. The sqeak noise is coming from the PSU aswell.

So does anyone knows if this is a PSU problem or I messed up a build? Its by far not my first custom build, but I never came across this problem.

Thank you.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

Thank you.

Its probably not delivering enough power to the parts causing them to starve for power.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

PSU is one possible problem, though from what you mentioned with the bluescreen it could be RAM related. I would try taking out one of the sets of RAM and using the computer for a while, if it freezes use only the other set and see if it freezes then. You could have a bad stick that is kicking off every once in a while.

UPDATE: PSU was indeed a problem there. Bought EVGA 600W 80 Plus and everything runs without any issues.
