Best FPV Racing drone (with goggles) under 300$

samocamo123

I have soldering knowledge and can fly drones pretty good could someone find the best setup with everything (props, motors, goggles, etc.)? I need it to be 250-350 USD at the most. I would actually prefer under 200$ if possible.

Yeah that's not really possible for the whole fpv system. For just the aircraft, maybe. Check out my cheap drone list for a suggested build, it's a 180 build that should have good power. The cheaper you go on your aircraft, the more you'll spend in the long run. It's better to spend more from the beginning so you don't have to spend as much down the line.

I see plenty of kits while they might not be good have full fpv for that price, I don't care if it doesn't compare to top of the line, could you just try your best in the budget range?

You might be able to get a much cheaper FPV setup with something like Quanum v2 goggles.

My parents are going to have to buy this as I am 14, so even if in the long run I spend more atleast it can be spread out.

K the problem with those is the frames are really poorly put together or made from really bad carbon. They will break a lot easier than something like a custom built alien. Those replacement parts can take forever to come over from China and a hundred broken arms will be a lot more than just a proper frame. I've spent $10 with shipping replacing carbon on my f1-6 after at least 6 months of ripping it.

That frame is a clone of a zmr 250, which is a clone of the Blackout Mini H.

Those motors are way too small for 5" props and that frame, you really need 2204 for anything over 180mm.

Get proper props (hah, I'm punny) like DAL or Racekraft.

That battery, while it's good, isn't the best choice for a beginner. #1, it's turnigy, #2, you probably wont see the benefits of Graphene unless you REALLY know what you're doing and you're ripping all the balls.

So bigger motor, better props and I'm good? I like how the battery looks and it's not too expensive.

yeah but it's better to have more batteries than one really good battery. Also throw in a battery alarm and some battery straps. I updated my list to include some quanum goggles that'll bring the price of a propper setup into the high $300 range.

Doesnt the power hub or ESC have an alarm or no als, Just wondering could a smaller 2200 mAh RC car battery work in the drone? Also I already posted the straps .

ESCs nor the PDB have an alarm. The best solution is telemetry via Vbat on the flight controller, but a simpler solution is just to slip a battery alarm under a strap and plug the balance port in.

What cell count is the battery? Anything less than 3s probably wont work, and 4s is where the power comes from. Also 2200mah is pretty big. I have a 2250 that fits on my massive 6" frame, but that sure as hell wont fit on a 180, especially if you also want a gopro.

It's a turnigy graphene 4s and I mean the drone is a 250 frame so it should work right?

yeah the graphene will be great, but I personally would get the nanotech 4s 1300. I have one of those, my friend has 4. Even with RS2205's and 6" props, those things feel pretty good. Flight time is okay (especially considering my frisbee props) and they can pull enough current that I don't notice a lack of power when flying.

I already have the graphene 2200mah so it would work fine with a 2204(or higher) and some 5in props, using the setup I posted earlier

Cell count?

2200 is pretty big for most frames. 6" ones are usually fine, but if you put that on a 180, it probably wont be the best thing ever.

I just said it was a 4s for a 250 frame using the ESC and stuff from the setup i posted earlier but with a bigger motor and some higher quality props

I mean it depends on the frame. If the top plate is super short, a 2200 probably wont fit. Take the qav 210 for example, that frame wont fit anything larger than a 1300. Meanwhile the Armattan F1-6 will take one and a go pro no problem.

Yeah probably, but I wouldn't get that frame.

Also get more batteries regardless. Stick time is precious, get as much of it as possible. All the parts in the world can't help your skill in the air. *cough* @TheGhzGuy *cough*

Also would 5 or 6 inch props be better for the frame?

Why not that frame it has good reviews, some say it's better than the ZMR 250
